Director of Engineering

Azira is currently seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our Engineering team. In this role, you will utilize your profound expertise to strategize, design, develop, deploy, and oversee secure, scalable data and platforms. Your responsibilities include crafting and executing engineering roadmaps, team management, driving improvements, leading problem-solving efforts, and maintaining alignment with company objectives. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders to shape and implement engineering strategies, guide the engineering staff, and foster innovation and enhancement in engineering methodologies.

A Day in the Life

• Contribute to design and development initiatives of Azira’s products.
• Ensure high-quality product deliverables in each iteration.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Plan capacity and specify resource needs for various deployment scenarios.
• Aid the documentation team in creating clear and concise documentation, support materials, and deployment guides.
• Embrace agile methodologies and coach the team to adhere to the principles.
• Supervise and provide guidance to the Team, including people management responsibilities and overseeing various methodologies beyond just Scrum.
• Responsible for crafting systems, instituting rituals, and nurturing an engineering ethos that fosters consistent, dependable, high-caliber execution, thus guaranteeing the delivery of exemplary code in accordance with internal schedules and goals.

What You Bring to the Role

• A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Candidates should possess 12-15 years of experience, with a minimum of 6 years in a data-driven company/platform.
• Demonstrated leadership experience of at least 6 years, including mentoring technical teams.
• Capable of leading cross-functional teams in a hands-on capacity.
• Proven track record of managing competent engineering teams directly.
• Strong project management skills, with a history of successful project delivery.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, coupled with strong business acumen and critical thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide internal stakeholders effectively.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills, fostering teamwork across the organization.
• Demonstrated track record of successful collaboration, receptiveness to feedback, and fostering constructive relationships with product, sales, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Java or Python is advantageous.
• Having Agile certifications such as CSM, CSPO, and CSP will be a plus.
