We are looking for an exceptionally driven Sales Director to lead in our Tourism division! In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our sales strategy for marketing and location analytics solutions, driving client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth specifically within the Tourism vertical. You’ll harness data-driven insights to streamline our sales processes, elevate client engagement, and uncover exciting growth opportunities. 

We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about media and technology and possesses a solid understanding of media agencies and DMO relationships. Your existing connections within the tourism industry are a valuable asset!

This role is highly visible, both within our team and in the broader community, allowing you to collaborate cross-functionally and drive impactful efficiency and performance enhancements. Your efforts will define, support, and roll out global sales initiatives that genuinely have influence.
This is a remote position reporting to the VP of Sales. It offers a competitive base salary, a sales commission plan, and full benefits. A Day in the Life

As the Sales Director – Tourism, your key focus will be on harnessing your networking skills, cultivating strong client relationships, and developing strategic approaches to enhance our Marketing & Analytics partnerships with DMOs. This role encompasses a dynamic array of responsibilities, including: 

  • Gaining in-depth knowledge about our products to position them effectively. 
  • Seeking out prospective customers and driving lead generation and conversion initiatives.
  • Engaging with both new and existing clients to understand their unique needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Maintaining and nurturing contact lists to foster ongoing relationships. 
  • Showcasing product features that align perfectly with customer objectives and priorities.
  • Negotiating prices and terms while preparing sales agreements that seal the deal. 
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams to communicate sales strategies, capture customer requirements, and brainstorm process enhancements. 
  • Driving the effectiveness of forecasts, pipeline management, and performance metrics within your team while sharing trends and insights with the sales leadership. 
  • Traveling to meet clients, partners, and attending conferences to expand our reach and drive results. 
  • Enthusiasm and collaboration will be at the heart of your approach as you navigate this exciting role!

What you bring to the Role

  • Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Science, Tourism, or a related field, and having an MBA is a definite advantage.
  • Experience:You have over 5 years of experience in sales roles within the Tourism sector, with a focus on Marketing Solutions. This includes expertise in media selling, advertising technologies, audiences, and measurement and attribution services. You have a proven track record of driving sales growth. Additionally, you possess at least 5 years of experience as a digital planner at a media agency or as a digital media salesperson, showcasing a solid track record through the entire sales cycle.
  • Expertise in Solution Selling: Your proven experience in channel relationships is complemented by a strong emphasis on solution selling, customizable offerings, and strategic partnerships that drive results. 
  • Data-Driven and Analytical: You excel at interpreting marketing and location data to guide critical business decisions. Proficiency in utilizing analytics tools like GIS and CRM systems is a plus! 
  • Independent and Collaborative: You are a self-starter who can work autonomously while also thriving in collaborative settings with cross-functional teams to achieve outstanding outcomes. 
  • Communication Skills: Your exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills allow you to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences with ease.
  • Industry Knowledge: You have a wealth of experience engaging with DMOs, Travel brands, platforms, and their end-users. Your familiarity with programmatic advertising, location-based marketing, and data-powered media and measurement solutions gives you an edge. Experience with agencies and channel partners focused on the Tourism vertical is an additional asset.
