Director of Accounting Operations

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Accounting Operations to oversee and streamline our accounting functions. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.

A Day in the Life

• Operational Oversight: Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and managing the expense reimbursement platform and corporate credit card program.
• Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting functions.
• Month-End Close: Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing also ensuring that general ledger accounts are reconciled monthly.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls, supporting audit and tax processes.
• Systems Management: Collaborate with the Head of Accounting, finance ,and other teams to optimize and automate financial systems where possible.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, operations, and executive leadership to align accounting operations with business strategies.
• Process Improvement: Continually look to implement new processes and procedures where possible to improve accuracy and efficiency, including the generation of SOPs.
  

What You Bring to the Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• 8+ years of experience in accounting operations, with at least 5 years in a Managerial or similar role with supervisory experience required.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial regulatory requirements.
• Proven expertise in systems implementation and process improvement.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with experience in ERP accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred).
