As Azira gears up for this year’s ICSC Las Vegas, we analyzed real-world location data from last year’s event to uncover how attendees moved through the city. For data and business leaders across retail, restaurants and commercial real estate, these insights support smarter decision making from improving site selection planning, to understanding trade areas, analyzing competitor store performance, monitoring foot traffic for certain locations, and much more. Here’s what Azira’s data revealed:

How far did attendees travel to attend ICSC Las Vegas 2024?

ICSC 2024 drew a domestic crowd, with 99% of visitors traveling from within the USA. Mexico, Canada, and the UK showed the highest number of international attendees. Of the US visitors, Nevada (67%), California (8%) and Texas (3%) made up the most attendees, with most attendees traveling locally or from neighboring states to attend. The convention attracted people of all age groups, with Baby Boomers (28%) and Millennials (27%) making up a large portion of attendees.

Where did ICSC 2024 attendees stay?

When it came to accommodations, convenience was important. Azira’s data showed that most ICSC attendees chose hotels within walking distance of the Las Vegas Convention Center:

What attractions did ICSC convention goers visit?

ICSC attendees didn’t just come to Vegas for business—they took time to explore the city’s top attractions. Nearly 6% visited The Esplanade at Wynn, a luxury shopping destination, and 2.7% stopped by The Shoppes at the Palazzo. Food was also a major draw, with close to 5% indulging at The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas.

Entertainment and immersive experiences captured attention as well. The High Roller, Las Vegas’s iconic observation wheel, attracted 5.4% of attendees. Others visited the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay (4%), the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit (2.5%), AREA15 (2.5%), the Mob Museum (2.3%), and the Bellagio Fountain (2.3%).

How did attendees get to and from the Las Vegas Convention Center?

As most attendees opted for hotels within walking distance, many chose to walk to the Las Vegas Convention Center along Paradise Road. In the heatmap below, we see that those that opted to drive arrived at the convention center along E Desert Inn Road from the east and west.
